2.THOMSON REUTERS COURSE : Journalists from Sub-Saharan Africa with at least three years of experience can apply to take a free course in Arusha, Tanzania.


The Thomson Reuters Foundation offers a weeklong training program to teach journalists to report on the complex issues surrounding court cases and legal issues. The foundation offers bursaries that will cover accommodation and travel expenses for participants who are traveling to Arusha.
Participants will explore ways of producing accurate, fair, balanced and compelling coverage for digital and print media. The program will feature a mixture of expert briefings, discussions, practical writing and visual exercises. Participants will also learn useful legal vocabulary.
The course will take place March 23 to 27.

3.The International Women’s Media Foundation is calling women journalists to apply for Howard G. Buffett Fund. The grant is to help women journalists and talented reporters to undertake ambitious projects, pursue training and leadership opportunities.The IWMF will grant total amount up to $230,000. Four rounds of funding will be conducted every year for next ten years.The International Women’s Media Foundation is a Washington-based organization that is dedicated to strengthening the role of women journalists worldwide. The IWMF celebrates the courage of women journalists who overcome threats and oppression to speak out on global issues.

4.Hendi Center Koloseum announced a call for Sixth Belgrade International Film Festival for and by people with disabilities BOSIFEST 2015, which will be held from 1th to 3th June 2015 at Belgrade Youth Center.Submissions are open from January 19th, 2015 until April 5th, 2015. The slogan of this year’s festival is”Labyrinth of possibilities”, and the topic is work and life of the people with disabilities. We expect that this year, as in the past, will be shown a large number of documentary films on the subject persons with disabilities. Viewers, during the past five years, have had the opportunity to see more than 200 films about life and work of persons with disabilities.This year, as in previous years, BOSIFEST consists of the competition and a show of work, as well as supporting programs, workshops, performances, exhibitions … BOSIFEST the Belgrade International Film Festival, which deals with the topic of people with disabilities, the only one of its kind in Southeast Europe, which is, this year for the sixth time, organized by Hendi Center Koloseum in Belgrade.BOSIFEST joins international festivals, which for many years engaged only in films about people with disabilities, as well as the films whose authors are disabled. 5.The Dag Hammarskjöld Fund for Journalists is now accepting applications from professional journalists from developing countries for its 2015 fellowship program. The application deadline is March 16, 2015.  The fellowships are available to radio, television, print and web journalists, age 25 to 35, from developing countries who are interested in coming to New York to report on international affairs during the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly.  The fellowships will begin in early September and extend to late November and will include the cost of travel and accommodations in New York, as well as a per diem allowance.  The fellowship program is open to journalists who are native to one of the developing countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and are currently working full-time for a bona fide media organization in a developing nation.

6.2015 RAF Programme-Applications are invited for UN fellowship programme available for junior and mid-level broadcasters and journalists from developing countries and countries with economies in transition. The Programme provides journalists with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the work of the United Nations. It is also an opportunity to meet journalists from other countries and exchange ideas with UN communication professionals.

7.The UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism is calling applications for its 11th Hour Food and Farming Journalism Fellowship program. The program provides an opportunity for early and mid-career journalists to report ambitious long form stories on the full range of subjects under the rubric of food systems.

The Fellowship program includes ten $10,000 postgraduate Food and Farming Journalism Fellowships. The workshop will take place on June from 8-12 June 2015 at UC Berkeley.
UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism is looking for the leaders of the next generation of journalists—strongly motivated individuals with reverence for truth, a hunger to discover and to inform, a deep regard for thorough analysis, and an ardent embrace of civic engagement.

Eligibility Criteria
The fellowship is only open to those who are not currently§ enrolled in school. 2015 graduates are also eligible to apply.
International journalists may also apply.§
