Head of Communications (maternity cover)

    Full Time (37.5 hours), based in London (with the possibility of overseas travel)
    £42,488 plus 9% employer pension contribution
    Fixed term contract, ten months with possibility of extension
    25 days annual leave + 3 Christmas office closure days + 8 UK bank holidays

Communications is a vital and central function, which impacts all areas of the organisation. The Head of Communications will lead on the development, implementation and management of Conciliation Resources’ organisational communications strategies and activities. S/he will ensure that the organisation is clear in its messages and priority audiences, and is communicating with them effectively.
S/he will oversee all our communications (website, ebulletins, publications, brand, internal communications, social media and media work) and will lead the Communications team in providing support to the rest of the organisation; ensuring all our publications and resources are produced to the highest standard and there are effective systems and processes in place to support communications activities.
Candidates should have knowledge of a range of communications activities and best practice. They should have experience in overseeing and monitoring communications, creating communications strategies and managing budgets. They should also have substantial experience of writing and editorial work, working with an organisational brand, internal communications, working with the media and managing digital communications channels. They should have outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills and strong leadership and decision-making ability. They should also be organised with excellent project management skills.
Knowledge of international contexts and issues, and experience of working in a multicultural environment is also important.
